Bach Centre-approved courses
As part of its work to teach and promote Dr Bach's simple system, the Bach Centre formally approves three levels of training:
- Level 1 teaches the basics of the system, including the indications for each remedy and how to select a mix for yourself.
- Level 2 is designed to help you build your confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the subtler aspects of using the remedies. You also explore some of the philosophy underlying the system.
- Level 3 is for people who want to work professionally with the remedies. It explains how to work with the system in the context of promoting self-help and includes opportunities to enhance your consultation and listening skills as well as deal with any remaining doubts about the remedies themselves.
All level 1, 2 and 3 courses meet a written set of approval criteria issued by the Bach Centre and teach the original simple method laid down by Dr Bach.
Once you have completed a Bach Centre-approved level 3 course you are entitled to apply to join the Bach Foundation International Register of Practitioners. In addition, students on any approved course can obtain a student registration with the Bach Centre, which can support your learning.
Courses at Mount Vernon
The Bach Centre doesn't offer a classroom-based level 1 course at Mount Vernon. We do though run level 2 and 3 courses several times a year. If you want to come to the Bach Centre to learn, sign up for our free email newsletter, which is distributed via a Yahoo! Groups mailing list. If you don't have a Yahoo account you will need to create one to sign up for the newsletter. This is free and only takes a couple of minutes.
Sent out every month or so, the Bach Centre course information newsletter tells you about course dates and availability at Mount Vernon. We also include the odd bit of news and the occasional special offer. You can unsubscribe at any time and the list isn't used for any other purpose.

How much do courses cost?
The prices for courses run directly by the Bach Centre are all on this web site. (This includes the English version of the level 1 Distance Learning Programme and the level 2 and level 3 courses at Mount Vernon.)
For the price of courses in other countries and/or provided by other institutions you need to contact course providers direct. The Bach Centre leaves providers to set their own prices so that they can better reflect costs in their own areas. You will find links and contact information on this site.
I've used the remedies for years. Can I go straight onto a level 2 or level 3 course?
Courses that have not gone through our approval process sometimes include wrong or misleading information about the remedies, as do many books. The Bach Centre's Bach Foundation programmes aim to teach the original method as laid down by Dr Bach. You are going back to the source if you follow these courses, and that is done most effectively if you start from first principles.
For this reason we ask all students to complete level 1 before attending a level 2 course, and complete level 2 before attending a level 3.
Can I do levels 1, 2 and 3 in different countries?
Yes. All the courses are taught to the same written Bach Centre criteria, so there is no problem following the different levels in different countries, or in different languages. Once you have a level 1 certificate you can enrol on any level 2 anywhere in the world, and the same applies moving from level 2 to level 3.
How quickly can I progress through the levels?
We advise students to allow time between the different levels to gain experience and do some background reading. Course providers may refuse enrolment on level 2 and level 3 courses where the student completed the previous level less than five months before and where they have doubts about the student's readiness for the next level.
Nevertheless many students complete levels 2 and 3 successfully without leaving a significant time gap. In keeping with the principle of self-help, we normally leave students to make up their own minds about this, and particular allowance is made for students travelling from overseas who wish to complete two levels in one trip.
The level 1 Distance Learning Programme (DLP) includes time for practice and experience. Students can normally start level 2 as soon as they complete the DLP.
I've done a course with somebody not listed on your site. How can I tell whether it is an approved course?
Bach Centre-approved courses are always advertised as 'Bach Centre-approved' so if you aren't sure the chances are the course was not approved. Check any certificate you were given at the end of the course and it should carry the Bach Foundation International Register logo and the words 'course approved by the Bach Centre' or 'course approved by the Bach Foundation'.
If you're still not sure, email or fax us a copy of your certificate and details of the name of the trainer and we will check for you.
I want to teach Bach Centre-approved courses. How can I get a licence?
The first prerequisite for being a trainer is that you are a current Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner. The Bach Centre will not consider courses whose main teacher is not a Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner.
In addition you will need specific specialist training to teach, either direct from the Bach Centre or from a Bach Centre-approved Institute. For more details contact Stefan at the Centre.
